French prosecutors said Wednesday that they have opened an investigation into Elon Musk and social media platform X over the distribution of child sexual abuse images, deepfakes, disinformation and alleged complicity in denying crimes against humanity linked to the platform’s artificial intelligence system, Grok.
I can’t believe the French are going after Musk for Grok’s outputs—what about all the other AI chatbots that generate harmful content? Seems like they’re just picking on him because he’s a big target.
Finally someone is holding these platforms accountable! The fact that Grok was reportedly spreading deepfakes and child abuse images is horrifying. France is right to investigate.
