A California man accused of attempting to assassinate US President Donald Trump at last month’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner pleaded not guilty to all charges on Monday. Prosecutors allege Cole Allen fired a shotgun at a US Secret Service agent and stormed a security checkpoint in a foiled attack in April.

Pleading not guilty after getting caught with a shotgun at a security checkpoint? What a joke. He clearly knew what he was doing.
I’m glad no one was hurt, but how did this guy get that close to the President with a shotgun? Secret Service needs to explain.
Cole Allen must have some serious mental health issues to think he could assassinate Trump at a crowded media event. I hope he gets help.
Lock him up. Attempted assassination is attempted assassination, no matter who the target is. The trial should be swift.

The fact that he fired at a Secret Service agent first shows he was ready to kill. A not guilty plea is just a delay tactic.
