Ugh, this is so tragic. I can’t imagine how that pilot must feel, even if it wasn’t their fault. The A321 was just doing its pre-takeoff checks when this happened.
How did that person even get onto the runway? Denver has some of the tightest security around. Makes me wonder if there’s a gap in perimeter monitoring.
The article says the intruder was struck by the wing of the Airbus. That must have been a horrific scene for ground crew nearby. RIP.

I read the intruder was a pedestrian who somehow bypassed a fence. Time for the airport to invest in better sensors and maybe drones for patrol.
